See inside historic Shifnal hotel after £250,000 revamp of bar and restaurant
A £250,000 refurbishment programme at an historic hotel has been completed.

The Park House Hotel, in Shifnal was originally bought by the Crest Hotels Group in 2021.
It has already benefited from a £200,000 investment last year to improve the back of house areas, kitchens and information technology; with an additional £150,000 currently being spent on solar panels and a green energy strategy.

Now a £250,000 injection of funds has ensured the lounge, bar and restaurant areas have been modernised to exacting standards which Crest Hotels boasts across its portfolio of properties.
Dan Richards, general manager of the Park House Hotel, said: “Crest Hotels have a vision of elegance, quality and comfort and what we have achieved here really does embrace each sentiment perfectly."

"Guests are already commenting on the transformation and so we can’t wait to welcome even more to experience the new customer journey we are offering.
“Each touch point in the public spaces have been brought to life and we know will be welcomed by those visiting; whether they are popping in for a cocktail in our new trendy bar, a bride and groom saying I do, or a corporate guest benefitting from the free WiFi and USB charging points in the lounge area.”

To mark the completion of the refurbishment, VIP’s were invited to an exclusive event and official ribbon cutting ceremony where drinks and canapes were also served. Mayor of Shifnal Roger Cox had the honour of cutting the ribbon in front of 100 guests.

Head Chef Andre Pelaud who catered the event, said: “The much-needed modernisation to the public spaces has also been well received by both our leisure and business guests utilising the open plan workspace and has put us in prime position to drive both tourism and business to the Shropshire economy."

"In addition, we’ve introduced a Starbucks concession for coffee and improved and increased our overall food and beverage offering with a new all-day dining menu."
The revamp is described as modern in style with an eclectic mix of furnishings, lighting and seating including booths but retaining its charm and character of a 17th Century country house.
