Bridgnorth singer has 'No Regrets' after Edith Piaf performance raised £2,000 for hospice
A Bridgnorth singer who brought her West End show about Edith Piaf to the Shropshire market town said she on "cloud nine" following a sell-out performance.
Sally Jones has performed as Edith Piaf in Leicester Square and taken the show about the internationally-acclaimed vocalist across the ocean on luxury cruise liners.
The singer, who moved to Bridgnorth around three years ago, brought her West End show 'Piaf - the life, story and songs of Edith Piaf' to Castle Hall in Bridgnorth's High Town on Saturday - and she has raised more than £2,000 for Severn Hospice from the event.
The performance took place on the same month as the 60th anniversary of the death of Edith Piaf, famous for her haunting love song Non Je Ne Regrette Rien (No Regrets).
Following the weekend's Bridgnorth performance, Sally said: "I have to say I’m still on cloud nine after Saturday night. It really couldn’t have gone better.
"We ended up completely filling the Castle Hall and thanks to Blue Spot Productions in Broseley the hall looked stunningly beautiful with very effective lighting - not just on the stage but up-lighters all around the room. Fabulous! The show went even better than I could have hoped - bearing in mind I hadn’t performed since before Covid. There was a lot of adrenaline on the stage that night.
"And the great news is we made a lot of money for Severn Hospice - around £2,100."
Sally added that the Bridgnorth Lions also did a raffle on the night so even more money may have been raised following the performance.
Following the success of her performance, Sally has been invited to perform the show at Birchmeadow Centre in Broseley on Saturday, November 11 this year and also at Bilston Town Hall on April 20, 2024.
