15 frightening photos of creepy costumes and ghoulish goings-on for Black Country village's charity Halloween trail
There were frights and scares for all the family as a Black Country village community came together to celebrate spooky season.
The centre of Wall Heath was turned into a spooky Halloween-themed celebration on Saturday (October 25) as a way of promoting the village, businesses in it and what it has to offer.
There were witches, ghouls, zombies and a whole host of other scary creatures and spooky figures as part of the celebration, which was organised by Wall Heath Village People.
Vice chairman Andy Vaughan said the event followed on from a smaller scale event he'd started as owner of the Decomar Hardware Merchants shop and was part of organised events to engage with the community.
He said: "When I came here as a shopkeeper around six years ago, I decided to do something for Halloween and myself and Michelle Preston from the Horse and Jockey pub formed a committee for the village called Wall Heath Village People - she is the chairman and I am vice chair.
"We started a little trail around the village, very low-key, but it's sort of grown over that time and become a great success - this year was as good as ever.
"We organise other events as well, with the annual pantomime coming up.
"Everything we do is for Wall Heath and the people of Wall Heath."
Mr Vaughan said the Halloween event was also a chance for the shops to showcase themselves and publicise what they do.
He said: "All the shops want to thrive and the events always put something back into the village, which is always in my thoughts.
"The cost of the tickets goes towards putting on the trail and other events organised year round, any money left is donated to charity such as the Rotary Club which we have supported in the past."
