Matt Garbett equalised in stoppage time after it had looked like Gbemi Arubi’s 89th-minute wonder-strike had earned Burton a first win in three games.

Robbie Savage’s first home league game in charge of Peterborough ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw against Burton.

It looked like Gbemi Arubi’s 89th-minute wonder-strike had earned Albion a first win in three games, but Matt Garbett responded with a leveller in the sixth minute of stoppage time to snatch his side a point.

Savage’s side got off to the perfect start as Owura Edwards tapped home Harry Leonard’s cross in the second minute.

Matthew Dennis hit a post for Burton before Posh captain Carl Johnston missed a golden chance in an action-packed opening.

Edwards blazed over another good opportunity, but the Brewers were soon level through Charlie Webster’s deflected strike.

Leonard almost capitalised on Finn Delap’s backpass at the start of the second period, while Johnston and Liam Kelly had shots blocked and saved respectively.

Arubi saw an athletic effort fly wide earlier in the half, but he was not to be denied a second time as he took aim and found the target from the halfway line, only for Garbett to level with a last-gasp rebound.
