The hosts equalised in the last moments of play.

Robbie Savage’s first home league game in charge of Peterborough ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw as they shared the spoils with Burton Albion at the Weston Homes Stadium.

It looked like Gbemi Arubi’s 89th-minute wonderstrike had earned Albion their first win in three, but Matt Garbett responded with a 96th minute leveller to snatch his side a point.

Savage’s side got off to the perfect start as Owura Edwards tapped home Harry Leonard’s cross in the second minute.

Matthew Dennis hit the post for Burton before Posh captain Carl Johnston missed a golden chance in an action-packed opening.

Edwards blazed over another good opportunity, but the Brewers were soon level through Charlie Webster’s deflected strike.

Leonard almost capitalised on Finn Delap’s backpass at the start of the second period, while Johnston and Liam Kelly had shots blocked and saved respectively.

Arubi saw an athletic effort fly wide earlier in the half, but was not to be denied twice as he took aim and found the target from the halfway line, only for Garbett to level with a last-gasp rebound.
