World Cup co-hosts Canada and the United States both kick-off their campaigns.

After Thursday night’s opening fixtures, the World Cup continues on Friday with co-hosts Canada and the United States getting their turn in the spotlight.

The women’s T20 World Cup gets under way when England host Sri Lanka in Birmingham.

Elsewhere, action continues at Queen’s and there will be first practice ahead of this weekend’s Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.

Here is a guide to what is happening in the sporting world on Friday and where you can watch the action in the UK.

World Cup continues

After Mexico had the honour of getting the World Cup under way on Thursday night, attention switches to their fellow hosts on Friday.

In Toronto, Canada will take on Bosnia-Herzegovina, who earned their place by beating Italy in the qualifying play-offs in March. The match kicks off at 2000 UK time, and will be live on BBC One.

Night owls can then watch fellow hosts the United States take on Paraguay in Los Angeles at 0200, also on the BBC.

England, T20 champions back in 2009, will be looking to emulate their success of winning the 50-over title on home soil back in 2017.

The match will be live on Sky Sports Cricket and Sky Sports Main Event from 1730.
