Wolves vs Aston Villa: Five players to have played for both teams
Nathan Judah looks at five players who have worn both the gold and black and the claret and blue.

Derek Dougan
Dougan signed for Villa for just £15,000 from Blackburn Rovers and went on to score 26 goals in 60 games
The legend of ‘The Doog’ was truly born at Wolves, when he joined the club in 1967.
Dougan marked his home debut with a hat-trick against Hull City and helped the club to secure promotion to the first division that same season.
Dougan went on to score 123 goals in 323 appearances.
Andy Gray
The Scottish striker scored 54 goals in 113 games in his first spell at Villa and went on to win PFA player of the year and young player of the year in the same season.
His British record transfer to Molineux did not go down well with the Villa fans. Gray went on to play 162 times for Wolves, bagging 45 goals – including the famous winner in the 1980 League Cup final.
Joleon Lescott
Lescott was a graduate of the Wolves academy. He made his first-team debut with Wolves in 2000 and was named the supporters’ Young Player of the Year two years running.
In 2006, he left the club to join Everton, where he was twice voted the Everton Players’ Player of the Season. He then joined Manchester City in 2009, where he won the Premier League twice. After spending a season at West Brom, he then joined Aston Villa in 2015.
However, his stay at the club was short-lived with Lescott leaving at the end of the season when Villa were relegated to the Championship.
Kourtney Hause
Hause joined Wolves from Wycombe Wanderers in a two-and-a-half year deal in 2014.
After the departure of Richard Stearman to Fulham, Hause became a main part of the Wolves defence.
But in 2019, he was loaned out to Aston Villa with the option of a permanent transfer.
After gaining promotion to the Premier League, Aston Villa used the option to permanently sign the defender for £3m.
Hause's time at the club has been blighted by injury and looks set to leave the club at the end of the season after not featuring in over two years.
Leander Dendoncker
Dendoncker moved to newly promoted Wolves from Anderlecht on an initial season-long loan in 2018, with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
The Belgian international went on to make 124 appearances for the club before joining Aston Villa for a fee of around £13 million.
But the midfielder struggled to find a regular starting spot and is currently back on loan at Anderlecht.
Other notable names: Adama Traore, Robbie Keane, Sam Johnstone. Emiliano Martinez, Andreas Weimann, Tony Daley, Rob Edwards, Michael Oakes
