Wolves starlet ready to repay faith from Vitor Pereira
Mateus Mane is keen to repay the faith shown in him by Vitor Pereira as he targets his next Wolves opportunity.

The 17-year-old, who signed from Rochdale last year, was promoted to the first team towards the end of last season and was given his senior debut against Brighton at Molineux in May.
Mane was also included in Wolves' pre-season trip to Portugal and is set to stay with the first team this season, and the forward is ready to pay Pereira back for the trust he has shown him.

"It's been good," Mane said when asked about pre-season and working with Pereira.
"When we're not training it's been fun and we've been joking, but when we're on the pitch, he's serious and wants us to do well and always teaching us.
"He wants to get his job done and he'll tell us if we're not doing it properly and he'll tell us if we are doing it properly. He's a good manager.
"He's believing in me and I've got to prove to him that I can do what I can do and I'm going to show him that.
"It's all about taking that opportunity.
"Now I'm trying to look forward to get a goal at least, or an assist. I'm going to keep working.
"Getting at players, crossing the ball, getting assists, good touches, creating goals, that's what it's about."

Mane left non-league football in February 2024 to join Wolves' academy and the highly-rated attacker quickly rose up the ranks.
He signed his first professional contract this month - turning down interest from elsewhere in the process - and the teenager can hardly believe how quick his rise has been.
"It's been unbelievable to be fair," he added.
"I came in from a non-league club to come in and do well with the 18s and 21s and then come in with the first team straight away has been unbelievable.
"I'm glad that people can see that and my hard work's been showing, so I'm really liking it."

Mane's next target is to have more of an impact on the Premier League.
Although he is not expected to have a big role next season, the more exposure he gets to elite football will aid his development and the forward is eager to take the next step.
"Try and get more appearances, a few more, then hopefully get another international call-up," Mane said when asked for his targets for next season.
"Try and get a start this season, that's my aim now.
"Thanks to all the fans for wanting to see how I play.
"When that time comes, I'll show them what I can do.
"I'll show them what a good player I am and I'll get the fans going when I'm out there."
