Wolves reject £3.5m bid for midfield ace
The offer fell below the club’s valuation of the player.
Wolves have rejected a bid from Anderlecht for midfielder Boubacar Traore.
The offer of around £3.5million fell some way below the club’s valuation of the 25-year-old and while things could change between now and Tuesday’s deadline, the current expectation is he will remain at Molineux.
Traore, who has also been linked with Portsmouth, made his first start of the season in Tuesday night’s 2-0 Carabao Cup win at Sheffield Wednesday.
The Mali international has made 43 appearances for the club since initially joining on loan from Metz in 2022, with the deal being made permanent for a fee of £11m a year later.
Traore spent last season back on loan with Metz but for now remains part of Cesar Peixoto’s plans for the season ahead.
While he is likely to stay, Wolves will look to move several other players out before the deadline.
Strikers Hwang Hee-chan and Sasa Kalajdzic are among a group currently training away from the first-team as they try to find moves.
