Wolves man makes 'unfinished business' comment after successful loan spell
The striker has endured a torrid time with injuries at Molineux.
Sasa Kalajdzic is keeping an open mind over his Wolves future after admitting a sense of “unfinished business” at the club.
The 28-year-old Austria international striker is due to return to Molineux later this summer after spending last season on loan at LASK.
Kalajdzic scored six goals in 29 appearances to help the club win the Austrian league and cup double and claims to have regained confidence, following the two serious knee injuries he suffered since joining Wolves in 2022.
With a year left on his contract, Kalajdzic’s short-term future remains uncertain but he is open to remaining at Wolves.
He told the club’s official website: “I am looking forward to the conversations I am going to have. If I am there, I will give it my all.
“Maybe it is unfinished business. At the end of the day we will see what happens in the summer and what is the best for both.”
Kalajdzic, who made his World Cup debut in Austria’s 3-1 win over Jordan on Tuesday, revealed Wolves sporting director Matt Jackson had visited him earlier in the season.
He said: “I was very, very happy about that. When the sporting director of a club comes, it gives you a lot of confidence.
“It means a lot they came and I told him that. It gives me a sign you are still looking at me and seeing me as a player of your own.
“That’s what they said to me. They said you never know what is going to happen but right now you are our player. It was a big gesture.
“I hope Wolves will bounce back next season because they belong in the Premier League.”
Wolves paid £15.4million to sign Kalajdzic from Stuttgart but he suffered a knee injury on debut and spent nearly a year out.
He later tore his anterior cruciate ligament while on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt and missed the entire 2024-25 season.
The loan move to LASK proved highly beneficial and he said: “It made the most sense in my situation to regain fitness and confidence, and it was the best decision to do it at home.
“It was the right step to get my body stable and I’m feeling really happy and comfortable.
“That was the plan and I’m really proud that I was able to manage it. The only thing I know is this loan has been very successful.”
