Wolves cancel training session after controversial star refuses to leave pitch
The extraordinary incident is understood to have happened on Monday.
Wolves were forced to cancel a training session earlier this week after striker Tolu Arokodare refused to leave the first-team group.
Monday’s remarkable flashpoint forced the club to draft in extra security personnel to avoid a repeat.
Arokodare, who is widely expected to leave Wolves this summer, will not be involved in Wednesday’s friendly at Maidenhead United.
Though it is understood the 25-year-old is not banned from the training ground, his exit from the club appears increasingly likely to be acrimonious and presents an unwanted headache for new boss Cesar Peixoto.
Arokodare did not initially travel with the squad for last week’s warm weather training camp in Portugal, only receiving a late call-up following an injury to fellow forward Adam Armstrong.
A £24million signing from Genk last summer, Arokodare scored just three Premier League goals as Wolves were relegated from the top flight.
In April, he faced disciplinary action after a dressing room bust-up with team-mate Mateus Mane during a 4-0 defeat at West Ham in which he was the sole aggressor.
Wolves recently accepted an offer from Trabzonspor to take Arokodare on loan but the move was turned down by the player.
