Wolves boss opens up on January transfer window plans
Rob Edwards admits the January transfer window 'could be difficult' but says Wolves will need to do some business regardless of the club's position in the league.
In previous January windows when Wolves have been in a relegation fight, they have invested heavily to help keep the club in the top flight.
This season, however, they are cut adrift with just two points from 15 games and have just four more Premier League matches until the New Year.
Any significant investment from the club is likely to rely on Wolves getting points before the end of the year and closing the gap - while some stars could be sold if adequate offers are made - but Edwards says he will need to make changes to the team in January regardless of whether it is to improve their chances of survival.
"It could be difficult, but we'll still need to do stuff," the head coach said.
"We'll see what situation we're in.
"We've got some really difficult games coming up as well. My focus just has to be back onto that.
"If we could pick up some points and get ourselves a couple of games away, then that might give us a little bit of hope with what we could do.
"But we need to do some work either way."
Meanwhile, Edwards has called for his side to improve on the transition after their sloppy performance against Manchester United.
A chaotic display allowed United to score four at Molineux and Edwards felt his side overcommitted.
"I think we wanted to be more aggressive," he said.
"We wanted to show that side of ourselves. With United's shape, it felt like it could be a little bit more of a man-for-man game where we could try and be more aggressive.
"I feel like the last 15 minutes (of the first half) was how I wanted the game to look.
"We pressed them well, they gave it us back and we were able to take more of the ball and we created some chances.
"Then it was too open on the turnover for a couple of moments, but that was nothing really to do with being more open, that was just poor play.
"We're actually poor in the running and decision-making on the transitions.
"Once the game got like that, then I feel like there was a little bit of hesitancy in the lads.
"There were a few moments there where United could smell blood and then they could start finding some spaces and it would look more disorganised than it probably should have done.
"But I think that was because of the state of the game.
"The first three goals were gifted and that's then led to it probably looking more disorganised than it should."
