Wolves boss eager for flair in club's fight to survive
Vitor Pereira is eager for his Wolves team to express themselves and not be 'robots' as he fights to drag them out of relegation trouble.
Their search for a first Premier League win of the season extends into the 10th game as Wolves travel to face Fulham on Saturday.
The head coach is still seeking his best team in the search for a winning formula and a key ingredient for him is an injection of flair.
"I don't want robots in my team, I want players that will decide on the pitch," Pereira said.
"If you start to work and you are worried about your role and what you should do, it's like your focus is just on what I'm asking you to do.
"Now we are starting to focus also on what you can do for me, what you can add to the system, how you can connect with your team-mates.
"We didn't have time to connect and we faced teams that pressed us and we didn't find the way to play our game.
"We are trying to give different solutions but it's impossible if we are not together. Now, it's time to improve."
Pereira has made changes to his side in recent weeks and given fringe players more of an opportunity as he looked for a way to win.
And he has called on those dropped players fight for the shirt and earn their place.
"If you are my player and you are working hard, of course I have some conversations with you," he added.
"You deserve that I say to you, 'you are competing, the chance will come and we'll need you. I'm very happy with your work and keep going'.
"The others that were playing before but we didn't get results, I had a conversation with everybody and said I need to find solutions and give some stability to the players.
"If I'm in their position I understand because we are struggling and fighting. We need points and results, this is football.
"That's why I say we cannot offer the shirt, you must deserve the shirt and fight for your position every day."
