The Brazilian scored Wolves' second in the 2-0 win as Pereira's side comfortably booked their place in the fifth round.

With no more distractions off the field, his new contract sealed and only his football to focus on - the head coach believes he will get the most out of Cunha.

"Fantastic," Pereira said of Cunha's performance.

"I asked Cunha not only to do what he knows to do as a player, but I asked him to help the others to be better.

"This is the real task for him. Playing, attacking, defending, trying to help the team.

"This is the commitment I want to see every match.

"When we signed Cunha (to a new contract) it was like we signed a new player, one more player.

"He can help us a lot, he can decide a game, he can create a chance, he can assist - he can do everything."

The boss is also pleased to see the end of the transfer window, as Wolves focus on their FA Cup journey and Premier League survival.

"I've experienced markets in a lot of clubs," he added.

"We got some players to help us. They are players that will help us for sure, I don't have any doubts.

"I'm happy because now I can keep the team committed and focused only on the time we have until the end of the season.

"For a coach, this is something that is important."

Blackburn had the better early chances early in the clash, before Wolves took control and were ruthless in front of goal.

Despite making five changes, Pereira took the game seriously by naming a strong side with the aim of building a winning mentalty.

He said: "Before the game I said to my players that 'at the end of the day the most important thing is being proud of our work'.

"At the end of the game, this is the question we answered. We must ask ourselves if we did everything, tried everything and gave our best, with personality and commitment to win the game.

"I'm proud of my players and they deserve two days off.

"It's another game and we need to be consistent.

"We cannot play a strong match against Villa and then come here and show another face.

"I said to them I cannot explain it if we don't have the same commitment, running and fighting, facing this difficult pitch and ball.

"In the end, I'm happy and that's why I've given them one more day off. I'm happy with the commitment, the spirit, the mentality.

"If we don't face this game with the right mentality, it's a big problem."

There was one negative as Hwang Hee-chan went down injured in the first half, clutching his hamstring, but Pereira is hopeful it is not serious.

"We have some problems," he said.

"The pitch was difficult for injuries, we have some problems.

"Hee-chan, we'll see what happens. I hope it's not serious.

"Some players complained with muscular pains, so we'll see.

"It was Hee-chan's hamstring and in a conversation with me he said he didn't feel anything serious.

"We will see. We must wait two days and then see."
