Alex Palmer

Busier than Albion would have hoped for. The keeper was on his game to make a couple of crucial saves from dangerman Sainz.

Solid 7

Darnell Furlong

One or two unusually sloppy passes earlier on below his usual level. Defended solidly enough otherwise. Picked up that fifth caution for a ban for Sunderland on Tuesday.

Costly 6

Mason Holgate

Flicked in smartly for that important opener but almost caught by flight of ball afterwards. One or two defensive wobbles but otherwise OK.

Mixed 6

Torbjorn Heggem

Continues to really catch the eye. Two immaculate recovery challenge, the best of which was late on. Moves the ball forward so well. Own goal unlucky.

Shone 7

Callum Styles

Like before the break he continues to make strides forward. Corberan selected him for praise with his attacking game. Perhaps caught out for Hull's first but otherwise great.

Improving 7

Tom Fellows

Some of the best Fellows has shown for a good couple of months. Delivery largely exceptional. Assist for second goal. Missed hugely when went off.

Impressive 8

Jayson Molumby

Irish midfielder was also near his best level. A really energetic, committed display full of good work with the ball. Some imaginative passing.

Tireless 7

Alex Mowatt

Had a decent first off but among trio to be subbed off. Just ever so subdued and below very high personal standards. But kept going.

OK 6

Mikey Johnston

Missed a big early chance volleying over but kept trying with strikes and crosses. A threat albeit in and out of game.

Flashes 6

Karlan Grant

Continues going from strength to strength. So confident at the moment and working so hard for the side. Assist for first. Harshly pulled for handball in disallowed goal.

Reborn 8

Josh Maja

Perhaps not at his influential best overall but kept working and got his reward with a brilliantly-taken volley for goal No.10 this season.

Belter 7

Substitutes

Jed Wallace (for Johnston, 70) In on goal once but offside, otherwise worked hard but to little avail. 6

Lewis Dobbin (for Fellows, 70) One or two flashes of pace but couldn't influence. 6

Uros Racic (for Mowatt, 70) Worked hard and took hefty blow to the face. 6

Devante Cole (for Maja, 82) Very little time to play with. n/a

John Swift (for Grant, 90) n/a.

Subs not used: Wildsmith, Frabotta, Diakite, Whitwell.
