Walsall's past and present send Wembley wishes ahead of play-off final
Walsall will be playing at Wembley for only the second time in their history against AFC Wimbledon in the League Two play-off final on Monday.

Here, Walsall players and staff both past and present send their best wishes to the squad.
Siggi Eyjolfsson
It's an exciting occasion and I'm sure the players will remember it for the rest of their lives.
The advice I would give them is have no regrets, give it all they've got. It's truly amazing that you're calling me in Iceland 26 years after I played for Walsall and scored that goal that secured promotion.
I'll remember that match against Oldham for the rest of my life as I'm sure the Walsall will do too. I'm very tempted to fly over and watch the game at Wembley.

I hope they will win the match and Walsall will be playing a league higher next season. When you're part of a team that achieves promotion and enters the history books, it creates a special connection and a special bond between the players.
It's a unique memory that we share together and most of us all still stay in touch. It ranks right at the top of what I did as a footballer and hopefully the current generation can do the same at Wembley.
Milan Lalkovic
I just want to wish you all the best for the Wembley play-off final. What an occasion, go and be the heroes for the fans.
We've had the tough times where you came out on top. You showed everyone against Chesterfield that you can do it.

Fantastic performances from the whole team including the subs when they came on. It just shows you how important the whole team is.
You've got the spirit and now just go and finish them off. I'll be cheering from afar as a fan.
When I met you boys two years ago when I was there in pre-season, I knew something special can happen and now it's time. Go and do it!
Dean Keates

Hopefully the lads can get the right result and give the fans an amazing Bank Holiday weekend. Safe travels to all our fans.
Chris Marsh
I knew going into that game against Oldham, if I scored, which I did fortunately, is kind of still remembered as the goal that got us up.
Everyone has heard the saying that it's for someone to make themselves a hero and go down in folklore.
To score the goal that takes them up or to score the winning goal at Wembley. They're all heroes and have done their bit but it's time for a hero to step forward.

What a better way to do that and get into League One for next year. The advantages and positives of winning are phenomenal.
Next division, higher attendances, pay rises for most of them because that's the way it is. There's a lot riding on it and there's a lot to lose as well.
It's high stakes but that's why you're in the game as a footballer. To walk down that tunnel at Wembley and walk out in front of that crowd. That's what you live for!
Douglas James-Taylor
It's been a real pleasure to watch the lads week in, week out, throughout the season and it is only through through their quality and determination that Walsall have come on leaps and bounds this season.
I know nearly all of the lads well in that dressing room and they have all had to come through and overcome some sort of obstacle along the way to these play-off finals, both individually and collectively.

I will be watching on from Ireland and sending all my support with them. I can't wait for them to reap the rewards from everyone's collective hard work throughout the season.
Up the Saddlers!
Jimmy Walker
I'm doing the fan zone. I'm going with the fans on the coach and having a proper fan boy date.
I can't wait. I always used to think just do your basics really well, take care of everything you can control.
Prepare right, do your training right, eat well, get ready and then you're good to go.

That fills you with confidence anyway. You all buy into the game plan and that prepares you really well.
Then just remind yourself to focus on the game and stay in the moment. If you need a big moment in that game, it'll come to you, you don't need to go chasing it.
Just leave everything out on that pitch when you can. If you do all that, you've got no regrets and hopefully when you get over the line, you can enjoy the game after it.
Dan Watson
Hi Sads, wishing you and the boys all the best for Monday. I'll be watching on the tele because unfortunately I'm not in the country.
But enjoy the day and let's change that picture in reception of Darren Byfield. Let's get that victory. Come on the Saddlers!
