Walsall vs Wimbledon: George Bennett's predicted XI

Levi Amantchi should be given the nod in attack against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday with Ellis Harrison likely to be sidelined again with a hamstring injury.

Albert Adomah partnered Jamille Matt in attack during the goalless draw at Gillingham as Walsall lacked the clinical touch to secure maximum points.

Meanwhile, Amantchi seized his chance in the team when he scored against his former club Bromley in their 2-2 draw at Hayes Lane earlier this month.

Matt also got on the score sheet, extending his season tally to 12, with the pair striking up a promising early partnership.

The defence was the standout department in the stalemate in Kent. Oisin McEntee, Harry Williams and Evan Weir performed well and it would perhaps be unwise to upset that dynamic after keeping just their second clean sheet of the calendar year.

Sam Hornby has also caused another selection headache for Mat Sadler. The 30-year-old impressed between the sticks and preserved his first league shutout for the club with a crucial late save to deny Elliott Nevitt.

That will only help his cause with Stoke City loanee Tommy Simkin available again following his England under-21 selection.

Connor Barrett will complete his two-game suspension against Wimbledon, meaning Nathan Asiimwe is likely to resume at right wing-back, with the Charlton Athletic loanee impressing on his first start last weekend.

Elsewhere, Alfie Chang produced a blistering cameo from the bench in stoppage time at Gillingham and could potentially have propelled himself into the forefront of Sadler's mind.

The next problem position is at wing-back. Taylor Allen deputised for Liam Gordon, who was away with Guyana on international duty, but had one of his quieter afternoons.

Sadler insists Gordon is ready to start on the weekend although he might want to keep him fresh for the next two games against Doncaster Rovers and Port Vale respectively.

Walsall Predicted XI (3-1-4-2): Hornby; McEntee, Williams, Weir; Stirk; Asiimwe, Jellis, Chang, Allen; Amantchi, Matt.

Subs: Simkin, Okagbue, L Gordon, Comley, Lakin, Adomah, Johnson.
