Walsall 2-2 Salford City player ratings: Two 8s after Saddlers late comeback
George Bennett rates Walsall's players from their 2-2 draw against Salford City at Bescot on Saturday.

Tommy Simkin - 7
Super stop - Very little he could do about both goals but produced a stunning save to deny Cole Stockton's low volley in the second half.
David Okagbue - 6
Challenging - Dragged out of position in the build-up to both goals especially Salford's second as he left Hakeeb Adelakun completed unmarked to run in behind.
Harry Williams - 6
Mixed - Prevented Matty Lund from breaking one-on-one with an important last ditch challenge but was beaten in the air by Cole Stockton in build-up to Salford's second.
Taylor Allen - 7
Versatile - Struck wide on the half volley and forced a save out of Jamie Jones with a thumping free-kick in the first half. Looked dangerous when he stepped up into midfield for the final 20 minutes.
Ryan Stirk - 6
Mixed - Gave the ball away cheaply to allow Salford to break on the counter-attack for their second goal but found Evan Weir out wide in the build-up to Walsall's first.
Connor Barrett - 6
Faded - Threatened in bursts down the right and set-up a good chance for Ethan Wheatley but faded as the game wore on as he was replaced with 20 minutes left.
Jamie Jellis - 8
Electrifying - A livewire across the pitch and was always looking to make things happen. Came close with a free-kick when his swerving effort was tipped over by Jones.
Charlie Lakin - 7
Energetic - Walsall looked a more cohesive unit with Lakin returning to the XI. While they still may not have been at their free-flowing best, they functioned much better down the left with him in the side.
Liam Gordon - 7
Important - Never shied away from taking on his man and played an important role in the final push as Walsall mounted a late comeback.
Ethan Wheatley - 6
Post - Still looked timid in patches but perhaps his confidence will grow over time. Hit the post with an instinctive side footed finish in the first 15 minutes.
Josh Gordon - 6
Tireless - Made his first start in just over five months and helped increase the intensity of Walsall's press with another tireless shift off the ball.
Substitutes
Levi Amantchi (for Wheatley, 57) - 7
A very bright debut from the bench. Provided a focal point up top and showed great speed to break in behind although he perhaps should've done better with his finish.
Evan Weir (for Lakin, 71) - 7
There is certainly more to come from Weir. He made a key impact from the bench with his cross eventually setting up the first of Johnson's brace.
Albert Adomah (for Barrett, 71) - 7
Provided Walsall with a spark at wing-back. Demonstrated his dangerous delivery at times and worked hard to track back and help the defence.
Danny Johnson (for J Gordon, 71) 8
Emerged as the hero from the bench with a dramatic late brace to help Walsall mount a memorable comeback. A pair of clinical finishes which were very much trademark 'Danny Johnson' goals.
Oisin McEntee (for Stirk, 86)
Unused: Hornby, Comley.
