Good - Struggled with his kicking in the opening half-hour but made a couple of good stops after the break.

Oisin McEntee - 7

Dominant - Created a number of openings with a few tidy passes into the right channel and was solid defensively especially in the air.

David Okagbue - 6

Struggled - Was indecisive in his distribution and played Taylor Allen into trouble with a poor pass in the first half.

Taylor Allen - 7

Hero - Read the game superbly well, making a key interception to prevent Marcus Browne from breaking in behind in the first half. Rescued a point with a special free-kick into the top corner.

Ryan Stirk - 7

Grew - Gave the ball away cheaply on a few occasions but rose to the challenge in the closing stages with a couple of key interceptions.

Nathan Asiimwe - 8

Threat - Kept his place in the team and looked Walsall's biggest attacking threat with a series of dangerous crosses and direct runs.

Jamie Jellis - 6

Mixed - Made an industrious run down the right before Charlie Lakin stabbed over in the first half. He also stung the palms of Owen Goodman late on but was guilty of overcomplicating the game at times.

Charlie Lakin - 6

Outmuscled - Found himself outmuscled on a number of occasions but got himself into some good attacking positions, coming close when his header was saved by Goodman.

Liam Gordon - 7

Improved - Looked a little rusty in the first half but improved after the break, defending solidly and also posing a threat in attack with a few direct runs down the left.

Jamille Matt - 5

Sluggish - Looked off the pace although he wasn't necessarily given the rub of the green by the officials with a number of fouls that were overlooked.

Danny Johnson - 6

OK - Handed his first league start since January 2024. Had a few moments without providing too much of a threat, dragging his best chance wide of the target.

Substitutes

George Hall (for Lakin, 66) - 7

Made his comeback from a long-term hamstring injury and looked an explosive threat in the final third.

Albert Adomah (for Amantchi, 74) - 6

Made a couple of nice passes with his back to goal and saw an effort deflected over on the rebound.

Levi Amantchi (for Matt, 74) - 6

Embarked on a couple of driving runs and made a nuisance of himself following his introduction.

Evan Weir (for Jellis, 83)

Looked to get the ball forward as Walsall chased a winner following his introduction.
