Vitor Pereira makes Wolves summer transfer claim

Vitor Pereira admits Wolves need to target quick attacking players next season to give the squad different options.

After selling Pedro Neto last summer, Wolves made a late attempt to replace him with Carlos Forbs, but the 20-year-old has struggled to impact the Premier League.

As a result, Wolves have been left short of fast forwards that are strong in one-v-one situations and Pereira is keen to bring in different options when the transfer window opens.

"I think it's about individual skills," Pereira said when asked about his attacking talents and why Wolves have not been awarded a penalty all season.

"Maybe next season we need to think about players one against one, players that can create something in one against one.

"I think we have one or two with this profile."

Despite that claim, Pereira also insists he is pleased with his current options amid Wolves' relegation battle, with Matheus Cunha banned.

"I'm very confident for the future, with or without Cunha, because I know my players," the head coach added.

"I know the personalities. I know the soul of them. I know that they will respond strong.

"That's why I'm confident, because now we have solutions.

"They came from injury and they are not (at their best) because they need to get the rhythm, they need to get the pace and the intensity of the game.

"But in this moment, we have more solutions.

"To do the list for the game, I need to think before (making the decision)."

Wolves earned a point in their first game without Cunha and must now pick up results in the coming weeks in his absence.

When asked if the squad feels added responsibility and pressure without Cunha, Marshall Munetsi said: "Not really, we have quality all over the pitch and can score from open play or set pieces.

"Everybody has to chip in.

"Matheus is someone we will really miss, but we have to continue without him and he'll be proud when the guys get the points.

"It's something we have to work on as a collective to try and get the maximum points."
