Unai Emery accepts responsibility for 'huge mistake' after Aston Villa lose at Liverpool
Unai Emery took responsibility for Emi Martinez’s “huge mistake” after Villa fell to defeat at Liverpool.

Martinez gifted Mo Salah the opening goal when he passed straight to the striker in the box.
But Emery, who has enjoyed huge success at Villa with his team passing out from the back, says they won’t be afraid to take risks in the future.
“We try to play with personality through our structures and through our rules,” he said.
“It was easy for Salah. It was a huge mistake but it was something in our process and my responsibility. I accept it.
“We build the team here through the style we want to keep in our process in the club and our next matches.
“Of course, we must avoid huge mistakes like today. But it is part of our process.
“We are going to analyse and identify how we build in these circumstances for the next matches.
“Through it we are feeling comfortable and strong through our idea.”
Villa had struck the woodwork twice through Morgan Rogers and Matty Cash before Salah put the Reds ahead just before the break.
Ryan Gravenberch then added a second for the home side after the break as Villa, who had arrived at Anfield hunting a fifth straight Premier League win, slid to their first top flight defeat since August.
Emery said: “The first 30 minutes we were fantastic, continuing the way we did against Tottenham and Manchester City, showing our capacity to dominate some times and create chances.
“But the last 15 minutes of the first half we lost some positioning on the field.
“We made a mistake in our build up and they scored. The second half started differently, we didn’t dominate and were planning the subs and getting fresh legs and conceded the second goal.”
Tyrone Mings will undergo a scan after suffering a hamstring injury in stoppage time.
