Wolves have been denied a first Premier League win of the season by conceding late in the last two games, following Sunday's disappointment against Brighton.

Johnstone understands frustration from the fans and insists the players and staff share that feeling, but he is keen to return to a positive atmosphere to help the squad get out of their current plight.

"It's so frustrating and tough to take," the goalkeeper said.

"I thought we defended well for a lot of the game, especially in the second half, and then just one little lapse of concentration and doing our job cost us three points.

"We work hard every day and we're working hard on the pitch.

"It's obviously frustrating for everyone, us and the fans, probably more than ever.

"We probably need to back ourselves and the fans to back us as well, just to try and get us over the line.

"They have been great but we sometimes hear their frustrations as well as ours and the staff.

"Hopefully, we can get that positive feel around the place and hopefully get our first three points soon.

"Let's be honest, if we'd have scored in the last minute against Tottenham, or the last minute today, it would be a different feeling.

"It's hard to take because it's obviously the other way around and because we're still down there, it is tough. Getting the three points is becoming more and more important.

"But if it was the other way around and we'd scored late, I think the feeling would be different.

"You can't question the lads' work rate, the lads' ability, the team's desire to try and get a win. We've just been unlucky in the last two games."

Johnstone has continued to impress since getting his place back in the team but the goalkeeper's focus is still on the team getting results.

When asked if he takes comfort in his own performances, despite results, Johnstone added: "Yes, slightly. My thought process is that I'm there to try and keep the ball out of the net.

"It still frustrates me that we don't get the win. I never look at it as, 'OK, I've done well, no problem'. It's never really personal to be honest.

"I'm happy that I'm playing well and I'm able to show people what I can do. But, yes, the frustrations are still there. You're making the saves and we're not quite just gettingthree points yet."
