Steve Bull: Jorgen Strand Larsen needs to knuckle down and focus on Wolves

There's always a scapegoat at any club and that is Jorgen Strand Larsen right now at Wolves.

It was a poor penalty miss but he is working hard and he is a good player.

I look at him and think he is being played out of position. He is a proper number nine but he's dropping too deep into midfield and needs to be using the space behind defenders.

We need to push him as high as we can and get the service into him for him to score the goals.

Larsen is now being linked with a move in January but he has to knuckle down, focus on Wolves and play for the shirt.

Until the very last kick you play for this club because they pay your wages and gave you the chance to play in the Premier League.

I don't think he's the type of lad to down tools, he's a trier and a hard worker.

However, it was very frustrating watching that performance against Brentford and it's hard to see where a win is going to come from.

I've been optimistic that we would improve and find a way to get out of it, but it's looking very likely we will go down.

Rob Edwards knows what job he has on his hands and it will be very tough. He has to take the rough with the smooth.

He's a young manager and hopefully in January they will support him. It might not be enough to get us out of this mess, but at least it might help.

We struggled going forward against Brentford, we haven't got the killer touch, we haven't got any leaders or the players to take the game by the scruff of the neck and take the game to them.

Matt Doherty had some strong words in his post-match interview and he's a very passionate man that wants the best for Wolves.

If it means hurting some egos, it's worth it. They have to roll their sleeves up and do it for the club.

It doesn't get much easier now as we take on Liverpool at Anfield.

Going away from home means a bit less stress with the atmosphere and hopefully they can stick to the game plan.

It is going to be very tough to get us out of this and following Liverpool we have Manchester United away - but we have to take each game as they come.

Whoever has the shirt, play like it's your last game and give those travelling fans something to cheer about.

Finally, I'd like to give a big thank you to all the people who attended my Christmas party at Molineux as we raised £7,000 for two charities, which was absolutely brilliant.
