Steve Bull: I'm seeing signs of Wolves' confidence returning

I'm seeing signs of Wolves' confidence improving and a win would mean the world to them.

Tolu Arokodare should hopefully take confidence from his goalscoring moment at the weekend, which is an area we are struggling with, and I saw glimpses of that confidence returning in the last game. They are starting to work together.

It will be tough to get us out of this mess, but I can see what Rob Edwards is trying to do.

As a manager it takes time to get your feet under the table, for the players to know what you want, and it takes time.

But the performance was better against Arsenal. We were disjointed in previous games but against the Gunners we played very well as a group.

Edwards' plan worked for the most part and it was heartbreaking for the lads and manager to lose it so late on.

When we went 1-0 down we dug in well, didn't let our heads drop and got ourselves back in the game, but two stupid own goals cost us.

But there were some positives to take from the game and I think the players are getting on Edwards' wavelength.

Not as many players as we thought have gone to the Africa Cup of Nations, which is good for Wolves.

But with Emmanuel Agbadou departing, it offers an opportunity for someone on the fringes to replace him and Agbadou should be worrying about losing his place!

Someone will get the chance to show Edwards what they can do and they need to take it as Wolves return to Molineux to take on Brentford.

Thankfully it's not an 8pm Saturday kick-off again! That's a relief.

But it will be a tough game. As an ex-Wolves lad Keith Andrews will want to win, but it's a match that Wolves can win.

The fans are frustrated and understandably so, but we have to stick behind the team.

Their support is vital, regardless of whether we stay up or not. I've been here nearly 40 years and the Wolves support is absolutely unbelievable, the best fans I have ever known.
