WATCH: Assistant ref storms off amid fallout at non-league clash

Dudley Town and Wolverhampton Casuals played out a league draw without an assistant referee after the frustrated official stormed off.

With the score locked at 1-1, a video circulated of the official leaving the field of play after reports of a disagreement with the referee.

The game played out to a 1-1 draw between the West Midlands League Premier Division's third and fourth-placed sides, 'thankfully without incident', Dudley Town said in a tweet.

Visitors Dudley tweeted: “The assistant decides he’s had enough and walks off in a paddy...Utterly baffling scenes.”

They also posted: "From somebody who was there, the assistant was absolutely fine and gave a perfectly plausible, if still somewhat frustrated, version of events after the match after sticking around for a drink.

"Felt the referee didn’t ‘back’ him over an incident. Nothing more, nothing less."
