Rob Edwards hoping home comforts can kickstart Wolves' survival bid
Rob Edwards has urged Wolves to make the most of home comforts and kickstart their survival mission over the next week.

Nottingham Forest and Manchester United both visit Molineux over the next five days and boss Edwards acknowledges they represent a chance to breathe belated life into the season.
Wolves, still searching for their first Premier League win, sit bottom of the table, nine points from safety but Edwards believes spirits in the dressing room have been slightly lifted by Sunday’s positive performance in the 1-0 derby defeat at Villa.
By the same token, he also knows time is already running out for his team to make a credible crack at staying up and said: “Home games can give us a real opportunity and two in quick succession, there's a chance there.
“We won't get carried away and start looking at the one beyond Wednesday night right now. “That's got all our focus and rightly so but yeah, it gives us a chance.”
Edwards thanked supporters for the backing they have given the team over his first two matches in charge - and acknowledged the return of a familiar face to Molineux with Forest could work in their favour.
Morgan Gibbs-White was part of the first coaching session Edwards’ ever took when he began working for Wolves’ academy at U14 level.
He was then first-team coach to Paul Lambert when Gibbs-White later made his senior Wolves debut, aged just 16.
The latter’s exit for Forest in a deal worth £42.5million in 2022 soured his standing with many Wolves fans and he regularly plays the role of pantomime villain on Molineux returns.
Asked if that could help create the atmosphere needed to drive his team to a first win, Edwards smiled: Potentially. I get it. We will take anything we can at the moment.
“Firstly, we need to do our job. If we do our job well, the crowd will be with us. If we can build on what we saw on Sunday, I am pretty sure the crowd will be with us.”
He continued: “The first two games have been brilliant since we've come in and a huge thank you to them because I know it must be tough for them.
“I know it must be hard for them at the moment and they've been really, really good and really positive.
“Hopefully they can remain that way if they can see the commitment from the players and they can see good performances.
“I wish I could guarantee them wins and points, I can't do that. Hopefully I can guarantee what the message will be and what the lads have shown me so far.
“They'll give everything until the end in every game. If we do that on Wednesday night, we've got a chance to win a game of football because if we perform as we did on the weekend, we are a match for a lot of teams.”
Ladislav Krejci is set to miss a second straight match with a minor knock, though Matt Doherty could return to the squad following his recovery from a knee injury.
