Preston 1-1 West Brom: Lewis Cox's player ratings
Albion correspondent Lewis Cox rates the performances out of 10 as the Baggies toil to their latest draw in troublesome run.

Alex Palmer
A couple of decent saves but unable to do anything about Riis' well-struck equaliser. One or two hairy moments.
Mixed 6
Darnell Furlong
Back in the side after rare omission and did well in the first half, like many team-mates. Good passes. Unable to have desired influence attacking as wing-back.
Return 6
Mason Holgate
Had an especially good first half. Some fine passing and good clearance off the line. The best of Albion's defenders.
Pick 7
Kyle Bartley
Started the game well as he gets back into gear following injury but struggled the more it went on. The odd mistake but otherwise did OK.
Decent 6
Torbjorn Heggem
Back out to left-back with height and physicality of PNE in mind. A couple of wobbly moments where he looked less comfortable than he has this term.
Struggled 5
Tom Fellows
One of the first halves' picks. Good assist and a few sharp turns and crosses. Moved to left wing-back to start second half before changes. Tougher going.
Lessened 6
Uros Racic
Had a good first half in his first start for a month. Got stuck in and moved the ball well. Might've picked up a knock before being replaced.
Average 6
Alex Mowatt
Moved the ball OK at times and took the ball well in tight situations but Albion seemed to lack the drive he brings when at his best. Fatigue would be understandable.
Off it 6

Lewis Dobbin
A surprise first Albion league start. There was no lack of effort and at times loanee quite sprightly and energetic with ball. But end product lacked.
Better 6
Karlan Grant
Superb again. Albion's pick. A wonderful goal and once again the determination and energy with and without the ball. Quality is there too. Full credit to him.
Class 7
Josh Maja
Involved in the goal and had some decent touches and pieces of combination play. Was missing a chance on goal but otherwise did OK. Rage from away end when he came off late on.
Indifferent 6
Substitutes:
Callum Styles (for Dobbin, 67) Always busy and tried to have attacking influence from left wing-back 6.
Jayson Molumby (for Mowatt, 67) Added some welcome legs and drive in midfield. Massive chance from quick Maja free-kick, denied 5.
Mikey Johnston (for Fellows, 75) Tried a few runs at Preston but wasn't working out for the winger. Wanted more protection from the referee 5.
John Swift (for Maja, 84) Did not go down well with the away end, who booed the change taking top scorer off. n/a
Jed Wallace (for Racic, 84) Had one moment late on where he might've been through on goal, cut on to left and was crowded out. n/a
