Walsall have the option of extending deals for Evan Weir, Rico Browne and Jamie Jellis by another year but still have a further 13 players out of contract in the summer.

Sam Hornby, Oisin McEntee, Harry Williams, Donervon Daniels, Priestley Farquharson, Liam Gordon, Ryan Stirk, Jack Earing, Ronan Maher, Albert Adomah, Danny Johnson, Jamille Matt and Douglas James-Taylor are yet to put pen to paper on new deals beyond the end of this season.

Sadler has previously stated that talks have been constantly going on behind the scenes but has issued an update that any negotiations have been parked for the time being.

"We're not doing any of that right now [negotiating contracts]. We've got a job to do and we've felt like that for some time," boss Sadler said.

"There is a lot of work to be done so we'll focus on that. That's us now and that's what is most important.

"Everything has been parked and we're fully focusing on the task at hand [matters on the pitch]. That's probably been evident with us for two or three months now."

Hornby, who was on press duties ahead of the trip to Gillingham on Saturday, was also asked about his future, with the goalkeeper among those not contracted beyond the summer.

"No, not yet. I think everyone that is out of contract is kind of waiting. We appreciate the club comes first," Hornby added.

"We've got to put that to the back of our minds. Then when the time is right, the manager and the powers that be will sit down with us all presumably at a similar time, and tell us where we go from there."
