"He has experience" - Wolves boss has say on summer signing's captain qualities

Vitor Pereira believes Ladislav Krejci has the makings of a Wolves captain but insists he wants more than one leader in the dressing room.

Toti Gomes is the club captain, while Joao Gomes, Jose Sa and Matt Doherty were named in the leadership group at the start of the season.

Despite a comical own goal against Sunderland last week, Krejci has impressed since making his summer switch and has also been notably loud when communicating with team-mates on the pitch and Pereira can see signs of his captain material.

"Yes, I think so, because he has experience," Pereira said when asked if Krejci could form part of the leadership group.

"He's a player that understands the game, he was captain before (in his career) and he has the personality.

"But I don't only want one leader, I want that my team feels they are leaders, they can express themselves and the communication between them is important.

"We are working to build this leadership."

Of Wolves' six signings in the summer, Krejci has so far been the most successful of the lot and made the biggest impact on the starting XI.

He has done that playing in both midfield and defence.

"Some players come and they start to play, other players they need some time to adapt," Pereira said.

"Krejci is a player that started to be captain very young at Sparta Prague.

"The first time I watched him he played as a midfielder scoring a lot of goals, after he started to play as a centre-back.

"It means for us he's important because he can play in both positions, but we are also trying with the other players to find solutions.

"In training we are trying to play full-backs as wingers and wingers as full-backs, to find solutions.

"We changed the system and now we have a lot of centre-backs and we are trying to transform a centre-back as a possible defensive midfielder.

"We are trying to find solutions with players playing in more than one position."
