The 29-year-old confirmed his place after last weekend’s BMW Championship in Colorado.

Rai’s tied 43rd-place finish in that event was good enough to see him qualify for the blue riband tournament among the world top 30 players in the FedEx rankings, starting on Thursday. The Tour Championship, in Atlanta, Georgia, is the most lucrative of all the PGA events, with prize money totalling around £19million, with the winner pocketing £3.5million.
