Wolves seal £12.7m Rodrigo Gomes deal
Wolves have confirmed the signing of talented Portuguese under-21 international Rodrigo Gomes from Braga for £12.7m.

The 20-year-old, who is versatile and capable of playing at right-back, right wing-back as well as the right side of midfield has penned a five-year deal with a further one-year option in the club's favour.
The club had to fight off stiff competition for his signature with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid keen to land the youngster. Gomes spent last season on loan at Estoril, where playing as either a winger or right-wing-back, he notched nine goals and eight assists across 36 games in all competitions.
And now he has signed sporting director Matt Hobbs is delighted Gomes will be able to hit the ground running on the first day of training.
“It’s nice to do one early in the summer," he said. "So Rodrigo will be able to join the squad for the first day of pre-season, which is great for the player and the coaching staff – they can work with him from the start. He’s a great character, a great boy and will really fit in.
“Scouting has taken a while. He’s a player we’ve followed for most of the season since he first went on loan. He’s a player we know very, very well and have done an awful lot of work on but getting him in has been relatively smooth because Rodrigo was clear that he wanted to come here and is excited.
“It’s not important to get a deal done early if it’s not the right player, but this is the right player. It’s great for the club to do that. He’ll be an important player for us with his versatility, creativity, technical ability and attitude on the pitch. The fans will love him and I’m genuinely really excited to have him here.”
And boss Gary O'Neil says he is looking forward to working with the youngster who shows enthusiasm and endeavour.
“I’m delighted, especially to get one in so early," the Wolves head coach said. "I think in transfer windows it’s very easy for everything to drag on and get done very late, but from a squad point of view, laying plans for next season, it’s really important. The type of player Rodrigo is, he had a fantastic season last season, playing in many different positions and he’s only 20 years old. For where we are as a club, he’s the perfect type of signing for us. He’s young and has potential.
“He’s not proven at Premier League level yet, but he’s one we can definitely know we can get to that level – we can work with him and help him develop, proving himself in the toughest league in the world.I’m really looking forward to working with him, he’s a great character – every time I’ve watched him, his enthusiasm and endeavour has drawn my eyes towards him, so I’m really pleased and he’s a really good signing for us.”
Elsewhere, there has been no contact between Wolves and West Ham regarding reports linking Max Kilman to the Hammers. Rumours circulating online have suggested former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui is lining up a move for the skipper after taking over at The London Stadium.
