Wolves fans can have some hope ahead of Tottenham clash - here is why
Wolves host Spurs on Saturday in their first Premier League outing since relegation was confirmed.
Wolves have little to play for other than pride as relegation threatened Tottenham Hotspur come to town on Saturday.
With Wolves’ drop to the Championship now confirmed, there is a wait on to see who will join them there.
And the big story down at the foot of the table is who will go down against Wolves.
It looks likely that Burnley will be heading straight back to the Championship - but the race is on to avoid being in the final spot.
West Ham and Spurs look to be the two battling it out - with Tottenham again in a scrap for survival as they were last season.
They head to Molineux this weekend looking for a timely boost, but the omens from previous games do not look good for them.
Wolves may be down and look out of sorts since they returned from a lengthy break - but Spurs seem to be an opposition they do well against.
They are unbeaten in their last six meetings against Roberto De Zerbi’s men - with four wins and two draws.
And to go alongside that, Spurs have lost on their last three visits to Molineux.
A late, late Wolves show
The last meeting between the two sides ended in a draw with a stoppage time equaliser cancelling out a Santi Bueno opener.
A memorable win came at Molineux last season - with Wolves beating Spurs 4-2 in the middle of a six game winning run that saw them to survival.
Goals from Matheus Cunha, Rayan-Ait Nouri, Jorgen Stand Larsen and an own goal gave the home side a comfortable win.
A November 2023 clash at Molineux will also be well remembered by Wolves fans - as a late show gave the hosts the win.

They were behind after three minutes but a 91st minute Pablo Sarabia strike was followed by a winner seven minutes into added time Mario Lemina handed Wolves the victory.
Spurs’ last league win at Molineux came back in 2021, shortly after Nuno had left Molineux for London.
An early Dele Ali penalty gave Nuno one of his eight victories as Spurs boss, on his first return to the West Midlands.
