Wolves make bid for England international

Wolves have made a loan offer for Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and could move Jose Sa on this summer.

A bid was submitted on Monday, with an initial season-long loan including an option to buy Ramsdale permanently next summer.

It is understood Wolves are prepared to cover most of the England international's wages, however the complicated deal is not close to being completed.

There is a long way to go in finding an agreement between the clubs, with more negotiation expected in the coming days and Arsenal originally keen on a permanent move for their former number one.

Wolves number two Dan Bentley, who Arsenal attempted to buy earlier in the window, could be used by Wolves to help get the deal over the line, however it is understood Bentley's departure is not yet on the table.

If Ramsdale does make the switch to Molineux, it is expected that Sa would move on and Ramsdale would become the new number one, however it is understood no offers have been made for Sa.

If both Sa and Bentley depart, Wolves will then target a new back-up goalkeeper to challenge Ramsdale.

However, with many dominoes still to fall in this transfer saga, there is no guarantee that Wolves get the deal over the line and they could still finish the transfer window with Sa and Bentley in situ.

Ramsdale, 26, has a contract until 2026 with the option to extend by another year, but is now keen on a move after falling behind David Raya in the pecking order.

Meanwhile, Wolves are keen on former Albion defender Dara O'Shea.

The Burnley and Republic of Ireland centre-back is likely to make a switch back to the Premier League this summer, with Wolves, Brentford and Ipswich all challenging for his signature.

If Wolves win the race for his signature and choose to take up the deal, Santi Bueno may depart on loan.
