Of the 2,000 supporters that took part, a majority of 60 per cent believe Wolves will finish in the top half next season now that Lopetegui has committed to staying at the club.

A total of 30 per cent have predicted a bottom-half finish, while only five per cent voted for Europe, four per cent for relegation and one per cent for a top-four finish.

The head coach’s future was uncertain following last season due to Wolves’ Financial Fair Play concerns and 55 per cent of supporters believed Wolves would be relegated next season if they had lost Lopetegui, with 38 per cent saying saying a bottom-half finish.

Looking back on the failures of last season, 98 per cent of fans believe it was the right decision to sack Bruno Lage in October. However, only 24 per cent blamed him for Wolves’ relegation battle.

Instead, 39 per cent of fans blamed the board, with 37 per cent blaming the players.

After Lopetegui saved Wolves’ season and took them to a 13th-place finish, a majority of 59 per cent felt that league position constituted a successful season – with Ruben Neves voted as the player of the season with 66 per cent.

Neves is now closing in on a £47million move to Al Hilal and most supporters will be pleased with that fee, as 52 per cent wanted a fee of between £40million-£50million for the star midfielder.

Agent Jorge Mendes played a vital role in getting Wolves that money, but after recent failed signings from his Gestifute stable, a huge majority of supporters, some 87 per cent, believe the club should be less reliant on him.

The FFP issues are a big part of Neves’ sale and 71 per cent are worried about the FFP situation.

But when Wolves do bring in signings, 90 per cent want the club to focus on the attacking positions after the team’s poor goalscoring record.

A total of 48 per cent believe the team needs between five and six signings to mount a challenge for European football next season.
