Wolves have accepted West Ham's £40million offer for Max Kilman as the defender closes in on an exit.

The 27-year-old will have his medical today, with a move to the capital edging closer.

Former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui has had Kilman as his top target for the Hammers this summer and he is now set to land his man.

They had an opening bid of £25million swiftly rejected, with Wolves demanding £45million.

But an up front offer of £40million made on Thursday morning was enough to convince Wolves to part ways with a player they spent just £40,000 on in 2018.

The skipper is now set to depart Wolves before they fly off to Marbella to start their pre-season preparations.

His former club Maidenhead hold a 10 per cent sell-on clause in the deal and are set to land around £4million.

The National League side originally had a 20 per cent sell-on but agreed to lower it to 10 per cent in order to get the deal done.
