Wolves boss issues Jordan James challenge after first Championship start
Cesar Peixoto was asked about the midfielder ahead of Wolves’ clash with Burnley.
Jordan James has been challenged to improve off the ball by Wolves boss Cesar Peixoto.
James made his first Championship start for Wolves since arriving this summer in Tuesday’s clash with Bolton Wanderers.
While Peixoto praised the midfielder’s quality on the ball, he wants to see more from him defensively.
Asked about James’ performance at Molineux, the head coach said: “The problem with Jordan is not his quality. He has a lot of quality, he plays well with the ball.
“I think when we lose the ball is the worst problem for us with him.
“He will improve, he will improve. But from my point of view, he is not staying the way I want and the team needs - to be more strong and react when we lose the ball, in the duels, to cover the midfield, to go in the duels to win the ball, to steal the ball.

“He has to improve. If he improves that, stays at a high level, it’s going to help us.
“He’s an important player, like I said before, but I think without the ball he can improve.
“I think when he realises the way if he can improve, the way he is going to play after that, I think he is going to stay a much better player.”
