Wolves blog: Fluffy stuff

After abdonwolf nicknamed me 'fluffy' in my last blog, it stuck with friends and family, writes Wolves blogger Nathan Lloyd.

Let's hope they drop that one quickly eh?

In my last blog I spoke about the joy of actually winning an away game, one of only four so far this season in the league.

But I also tried to balance that with the fact that most of the football this season has been joyless to watch.

Kights this week said that Mick McCarthy is a victim of his own success and that had we finished lower down the league last season, then expectations wouldn't be so high this campaign.

There is an element of truth in that statement, but the fact is that when Mick has had money to invest in the team he has done so quite poorly in my opinion.

He had a wonderful chance to build on last season's surprise success, but just hasn't gone about it in the right way.

Not being able to call on the talents of Kights for the remainder of the season will be a big blow, especially for MM's chances of holding on to his job come the end of the season.

Having watched Adam Johnson come on in the cup the other night, I think he would do a terrific job on the right wing if he were to come in on loan.

He also possesses a North-East passport, which ensures that Mick could keep up the quota in the Wolves team.

But as I said in my last blog, I don't want to be perceived as negative, fluffy, sitting on the fence or any other footballing cliche.

I just try and speak my mind. And this season I don't really see much value for money for my £400+ season ticket.

Anyway starting with the trip down to Essex on Saturday, March delivers games in quick succession.

And of course I and many others would still like to see Wolves reach the play-offs.

And that's why I'm staying positive and fluffy, just until all hope has gone.

Good luck to the lads this Saturday at Layer Road.
