Who starred and who struggled in Wolves average player ratings
How did the Wolves players fare from our ratings across the campaign?
The 2025/26 season was certainly one to forget for Wolves as they were relegated to the Championship.
Throughout the campaign, the Express & Star gave the players ratings on their performance for all of Wolves’ 44 matches and now we have calculated who came out on top in the average ratings across the season.
In ascending order, here is a list of the average ratings for the top 10 players that were given ratings in the most games.
Jackson Tchatchoua - 5.3
The £10million summer signing played a lot of games last season but struggled for any kind of form.
He is blessed with pace but rarely used it, while he failed to deliver on many of the basics that Wolves needed in and out of possession.
Going forward he was particularly frustrating in his negative passing and wayward crosses.
It is no surprise to see him bottom of this 10-player list, after a number of poor performances, after a move to Wolves that has ended up being a failure.
Tolu Arokodare - 5.4
To see another summer signing second bottom of the list says a lot about how disastrous the 2025 summer transfer window was for Wolves.
Including add-ons, Wolves paid the best part of £24million for Arokodare, in a piece of business that has proved to be very poor.
He had the occasional good moment and a handful of goals, while his size can make him a nuisance for some defenders, but he offered little technical ability and is not good enough for the Premier League.

Hwang Hee-chan - 5.4
Hwang scored three goals all season and just two in the Premier League, in another below par campaign.
He was often in and out of the team but rarely took his chance when he did and never found his confidence or form.
Hwang was probably unfairly criticised for his performances at the very end of the campaign, where he did well enough in a terrible side, but overall he did not do enough for his club in 2025/26.
Yerson Mosquera - 5.5
Mosquera' lower score is largely down to his erratic behaviour during the season.
He had plenty of good games, which his rating reflected, but he also had a lot of games with very low scores due to his inconsistency, needless fouls, erratic decision making and tendency to get involved in scraps rather than focusing on defending.
He has talent and has all the attributes to go far, but he probably needs to grow up a little bit to realise his potential.
Ladislav Krejci - 5.9
Krejci was certainly the most successful of the six summer signings and of the three that appear in this list, he rightly comes out on top.
He made a solid start to life at Wolves, playing in midfield or defence, but he did go on to have spells of poor form.
In the end, he settled on the left side of the back three and had a solid enough season, considering Wolves' struggles.
Hugo Bueno - 6
On his return from loan, Hugo Bueno fought off the challenge from new addition David Moller Wolfe to make the left-wing-back spot his own.
He was often solid defensively, while offensively he put in good crosses. He also won Wolves' goal of the season award for a terrific strike against Arsenal.
The defender did suffer with the occasional injury and has some work to do to be even more influential in attack, but he had a solid campaign overall.

Mateus Mane - 6.2
Right near the top of the average ratings, Mane enjoyed a superb breakthrough campaign once Rob Edwards gave him a chance in the second half of the season.
He burst onto the scene with some excellent displays and goals, before having a more difficult run of form.
He returned to some brighter displays at the end of the season and the 18-year-old proved to be one of Wolves' most creative and dangerous outlets, in a team struggling for goals.
Andre - 6.2
Andre had a difficult start to the season as Vitor Pereira occasionally dropped him, while the midfielder's performance levels were nowhere near his best.
His running statistics were also poor, as the team struggled in the Premier League.
He was able to eventually find some better form and had some good moments - like his late Molineux winner against Liverpool - earning him a nine out of 10 rating on that occasion.
He has since signed a new deal and Wolves will want more from him next season.
Joao Gomes - 6.2
The third player to tie on a 6.2 average rating, J.Gomes was also not at his best in the early stages of the season and endured a similar fate to Andre, as he was dropped for certain games.
He too found some better form as the season progressed and had some standout games, but Wolves probably would have wanted a bit more from him in terms of taking control of games.
J.Gomes did not have the same authority as he has done previously for Wolves.
Santi Bueno - 6.3
The centre-back comes out on top in Wolves' average ratings, which makes sense as he also won the supporters' player of the season.
S.Bueno started the season as a back-up defender, as he has done for most of his Wolves career, under Edwards he became a regularly and played with impressive composure.
He was much better physically, while his intelligent positioning meant he put in several good performances even when Wolves were struggling to contain attacking teams.
