Where Wolves finished after their past 6 slowest Premier League starts
Wolves sit bottom of the Premier League and without a single point after four games under Vitor Pereira.

Their 1-0 loss against Newcastle United at St James' Park on Saturday saw Wolves open the season with four consecutive defeats for the first time ever in the Premier League.
Only 17 times has a team lost each of their first four games in the Premier League. Eight survived and nine were relegated.
That has raised concerns over their survival prospects and we've looked at how Wolves have fared after similarly poor starts.

Wolves did at least have a point at this stage last season courtesy of a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest, although they did fail to win any of their opening 10 games.
A brief reprieve, which included back-to-back wins over Southampton and Fulham, kept Gary O'Neil in the job for a few more weeks, until a run of four successive defeats earned him the chop in December 2024.

Dave Jones inspired Wolves back to the top-flight for the first time in the Premier League era in 2003 after leading the Gold and Black to play-off success.
It would prove a short-lived dream and two heavy defeats against Blackburn Rovers and Charlton Athletic respectively set the tone for a long season fighting relegation.
They did hold Portsmouth to a goalless draw on match day four, but finished the season at the foot of the Premier League table.

Finished 13th
Wolves started the 2022-23 season with a pair of defeats at the hands of Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur respectively and draws with Fulham and Newcastle United under Bruno Lage.
Until Lage did end their barren run with a 1-0 home win over Southampton on match day 6, subsequent defeats against Manchester City and West Ham United ultimately cost him his job.
Lopetegui succeeded him after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, taking over with Wolves rooted to the football of the Premier League table.
The Spaniard successfully steered Wolves to safety, preserving their top-flight status by seven points.

O'Neil had been thrown in at the deep end at Molineux after Julen Lopetegui left the club just three days before the start of the season.
It took three games for his first victory (a 1-0 success at Everton) - after successive defeats against Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion respectively to start the campaign.
Wolves sat as high as ninth after 26 games, but a late season decline, which resulted in seven losses in their final 10 fixtures, saw them limp to a 14th-place finish.

Finished 10th
Nuno Espirito Santo left Molineux to join Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2021 and Lage had big shoes to fill when he was installed as his replacement.
His reign began with three successive 1-0 defeats, but Wolves emerged with a 2-0 win at Watford in their fourth game.
Wolves flirted with the prospect of European qualification for much of the campaign, but failed to win any of their last seven saw them fall short.

Finished 7th
Wolves made a slow start to their second season back in the Premier League under Santo, after finishing seventh, and qualifying for the Europa League during the previous campaign.
A trio of draws was followed by a 3-2 defeat at Everton and it would take seven games before Wolves got off the mark with a 2-0 home victory against Watford.
That would prove the catalyst to a strong campaign, which saw Wolves repeat the feat of the campaign prior by registering a second successive seventh-place finish.
