Tim Nash's daily Wolves tour diary in Ireland

Wolves' team spirit these days means they are like one big family now – and here's the evidence.

Moments after captain Sam Ricketts emerged at the team hotel with his mum after driving to visit his sister.

She lives an hour from here, the two sons of head coach Kenny Jackett pitched up in the lobby, chatting to the backroom staff before dad arrived to greet them.

It was a case of the present 'Wolves family' to a member of its past at my hotel a few goal kicks away along the seafront.

Minding my own business in the lobby, I spied a familiar looking face framed by a mop of curly hair and a thick Dublin accent.

It turned out to be former Molineux midfielder Keith Andrews, who was accompanied by MK Dons manager Karl Robinson, whose side have just start started their second week here.

Andrews, who scored for West Brom in the 5-1 defeat that brought Mick McCarthy's Wolves era crashing down, was enjoying a weekend 'home.'

He is into the final year of his contract at Bolton after spending last season on loan at Brighton with another Wolves Irishman, Stephen Ward.

Tonight is not the first time Wolves have played Shamrock Rovers – but it's the first time in Ireland.

According to Wolves' records, the only time the clubs have previously met was in June 1967 in Los Angeles in the United States Soccer Association League tournament, which Wolves won.

The game against Shamrock ended in a 1-1 draw with winger Terry Wharton netting a penalty for Wolves.

Shamrock, Ireland's most successful club, are currently fourth in the Airtricity Premier Division.
