Steve Bull: We’ve finally signed up our No.9!

We’ve been crying out for a number nine and Wolves have finally signed one!

Jorgen Strand Larsen is a big 6ft 4in lad who puts himself about and is a good goalscorer, with 13 in La Liga last season. It’s a brilliant signing!

Fingers crossed he can come straight into the Premier League and take to it like a duck to water.

Hopefully he fits the style that Gary O’Neil wants to play and it is essential to get these signings in before pre-season starts.

We will lose some players, which will be a shame, but sometimes you have to lose something to gain something.

We’ve seen it in recent years, but most of the time we’ve replaced players with quality additions and it’s been a very good start to the summer.

Wolves don’t often make a lot of signings before pre-season, but they have three new faces this time around and it will only help the players and O’Neil. They will be a little bit nervous but will fit in with time. Some jokers in the dressing room will help put you at ease and pre-season is great for that.

They will feel at home before the season starts and that can only help them adapt.

Larsen takes the number nine shirt but he needs to forget about the number and play his game.

If he bangs in the goals from day one, the fans and his team-mates will take to him quickly. It doesn’t matter what number is on his back if he goes out there and does his job!

Meanwhile, Max Kilman is off to West Ham, and in my opinion he is an unbelievable player.

We signed him for just £40,000, so to get £40million back is a great return.

However, I’d rather keep my best players and build around them.

It might be a long transfer window with interest in other players that we don’t want to see go.

Neves, Moutinho and Jimenez all loved our club and didn’t want to go, but sometimes it’s time to move on.

I expect Kilman to do a great job for West Ham. He’s a great centre-back and a great person.

Moving forward, Wolves need to replace Kilman. We need someone similar to Dawson with experience, especially if Dawson misses some games.

Experience in the defence is key and we saw how much we lacked it when Dawson was injured.

You need a centre-back to set the standard and organise the team, particularly when some younger players are playing.

Football is full of highs and lows, but stick by the team once the season gets underway.

Finally, I wish England all the best against Switzerland tonight.

If we play a back three with two up front we’ll beat them easily, we just need to pick the right system with the right players to suit it.

We have a great chance!
