"I hope whoever the Wolves board are talking to now, instead of Souness, has the same ambition to match their greater financial clout. I hope we don't all regret what has happened in a few months time." Rich, Telford

"Sir Jack Hayward himself set the price at £20m. Souness is a European figure in football. He is not a good manager but that does not matter because we already have an excellent manager. We need footballers in charge at Molineux not philanthropists or accountants. Accountants can be hired as needed and far more competitively than Mr Moxeys exorbitant salary. Mr Souness has offered the asking price. Time for Sir Jack to sell to a dynamic new team and time long overdue for Mr Moxey to leave. The current management failed to capitalise on Mr Jones' brilliant achievement of promotion against the odds. They must go." David Thompson, Tettenhall Wood.

"Wolves yet again can't make up their minds what they want to do – a la when we were promoted and the non existent investment. We believe that Sir Jack is hoping that Merlin Mick can wave his magic wand and get Wolves promoted via the play offs and then hey – its bumper pay out time again! Why does the owner of the club ask for investors and then when a "real one" comes out of the woodwork he then goes on a three month world cruise? Why does Jez Moxey state that Wolves would not do business via the media and then give Mr Souness his answer via the media? If Wolves do get promoted to Sir Jack's "Promised Land" – Is he going to back the club properly to compete at Premier league level?" Bridget and Tony Belper, Derbyshire

"It's all a bit like a game of poker and what we are seeing now with the rejection of the Souness bid is only the first hand. There are to be many more bluffs and ice cold stares yet to come before any agreements will be reached. Which is good. I think Moxey and Sir Jack have it about right at the moment. Just cause you place a value on an item, whatever it is, doesn't mean you take the first bidder to come along with an open wallet. Souness appeared to be offering a lot but the manner of his approach was all wrong which may only have served to indicate the relative weakness of his offer." Tony

"The best news this week." John

"If they really have other serious bidders out there who will offer more, then fine. But being interested is one thing, actually making an offer is something else. As long as calling in Rothschilds actually helps produce a buyer reasonably quickly we will be happy. But if SJH, and Moxey are still bumbling around in four months time then they will have much to answer for. Problem is we need a decent striker NOW and McCarthy's funds seem to be strictly limited whatever the club may say." Philip, London

"Do the Wolves really want to sell? Words are cheap, the board should come clean on what is really happening or is it just good PR on the backing of Mick? Give him the money to go and get the two players he wants - Sharp & Keogh or who ever otherwise." John Davies, West Bromwich

"A wise move. 20 million far too cheap." Andrew

"Beating Oldham Atheltic, turning down the Souness bid, we just need to buy a striker and it will be a GOOD NEWS WEEK." Ifor Powell
