Respect is vital – McCarthy
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy today insisted managers should shake hands at all costs – citing making the peace with Roy Keane as an example.
A media firestorm has broken out over Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's refusal to shake the hand of Manchester City counterpart Mark Hughes after City's 3-0 win over the Gunners put the Eastlands side into the Carling Cup semi-finals.

Wenger refused to take his hand afterwards after Hughes allegedly entered the Arsenal technical area to remonstrate with their bench earlier in the match.
But McCarthy said all bosses should shake hands – even if it is through gritted teeth. "I'm not in any way going to be disrespectful to Mark Hughes or Arsene Wenger because they are my peers," said McCarthy.
"But I shake hands with everyone after every game – win, lose or draw, and I think that's the protocol. No-one has ever offended me that much that I'd blank them.
"Even if they did, I still wouldn't let it show. I haven't even had a cursory, 'wet fish' handshake – although I'd prefer that not to happen at all.
"You should have a proper man's handshake after the game because it's the done thing to do."
