Quality is McCarthy's loan aim
Mick McCarthy has admitted he will do more wheeling and dealing in the loan market before Christmas - but insists he will only bring in players worthy of challenging for a first-team spot. The Wolves boss is staying tight-lipped on the identity of his targets, but confirmed there are players on his radar. VIDEO - Catch up with the latest Wolves news
"We're still looking at that and I wouldn't be suprised if we do get people in on loan at some point. It is something I'd be interested in doing if the right players are available."

McCarthy, pictured, doesn't include top- flight duo Lee Hendrie or Salif Diao in that category. McCarthy doubts whether the midfield pair - snapped up by Championship rivals Stoke City on loan - would be guaranteed a game in his Molineux team.
"We have our midfield four who have been excellent for us. I look at the likes of Lee Hendrie and Salif Diao and they are leaving their clubs because they want to play regular games. With the form of our midfield I don't think we could guarantee that."
Established Premiership players are becoming available to take on a three-month loan, with former Wolves loan man Jeremie Aladiere the latest to be touted around English clubs. Wolves sources have been quick to deny any interest in the Arsenal striker.
McCarthy also said defender Keith Lowe, who returned from a month's loan spell at Cheltenham earlier this week, may be sent out again before the end of the season.
McCarthy said: "He needs to play games. He was involved yesterday at Chesterfield and it's about him taking that opportunity.
"In fairness, we have Gary Breen and Jody Craddock, who have been excellent. Mark Clyde can fill in when he comes back, Rob Edwards has filled in and I've signed David Wheater, which has pushed him down the pecking order.
"I know John Ward rated him and was pleased with him."
Bristol City midfielder Scott Brown is the latest player to be linked with a move to Molineux.
The 21-year-old, voted in the League One team of the year last season, is being chased by a host of Championship clubs, according to reports in Bristol. But Robins boss Gary Johnson said: "There is no truth in that."
