Iwelumo: This is my best - so far

Wolves striker Chris Iwelumo today admitted he is in the form of his life after Bramall Lane witnessed his latest finishing masterclass.

The Scotland international grabbed his 14th and 15th goals of the season with two exquisite efforts as Wolves maintained their six-point lead at the top with a 3-1 victory over promotion rivals Sheffield United.
It took in-form Iwelumo just five minutes to get on the scoresheet, superbly rounding Paddy Kenny before squeezing home from the tightest of angles.
And the former Charlton man doubled the advantage with an emphatic strike on 59 minutes to make it five goals from his last three games before partner Sylvan Ebanks-Blake got in on the act four minutes later.
He said: "It's definitely some of the best football I've ever played. It's a great club, we are all aware of that and we are definitely heading in the right direction. I'm in really good form at the minute so long may that continue. I'm in a happy place at the minute, for myself personally and I think I can say that on behalf of most of the players. It's going really well."
It was another fantastic result for Mick McCarthy and his side as they increased the daylight between them and third-placed Reading to 12 points.
But they were certainly made to work for it in a bruising encounter which saw Carl Ikeme, David Edwards and Dave Jones all substituted with injuries and Michael Kightly forced to play on with a broken nose.
"We weathered the storm a bit and I thought we picked them off at the right times," added Iwelumo.
"We knew it was a big one, we came here and worked our socks off. We got the goals and we stuck it out.
"They had a lot of the ball, we knew that was going to happen. They were at home so they were going to bring the game to us.
"I've come up against Morgs (United centre-back Chris Morgan) many a time and it's always been a battle but that's part and parcel of being in the Championship.
"We knew that was what to expect so we are just buzzing."
And now Iwelumo has called for a repeat in Saturday's lunch-time kick-off against Blues as first meets second at Molineux.
The game is sure to have added spice given the close proximity of the two teams and the forward believes it's simply a case of picking up where they left off in South Yorkshire.
"We just need to approach Saturday's game with Birmingham in exactly the same way and we will see what happens," added Iwelumo.
"We are at home and the fans will turn out in their numbers. It's a fantastic occasion, first against second; it's going to be a massive game. We need to show up and hopefully we can score some goals.
"I expect it to be a similarly tough game, they are all difficult matches. They have got some big players.
"There's a lot of football still to be played so we need to just keep doing what we're doing and hopefully keep picking up as many points as we can. At the minute things are going really well for us."
