Gary O'Neil confident as he makes Wolves plea
Gary O’Neil is ‘100 per cent confident’ that Wolves’ poor run will end but insists they must all do better to lift themselves off the bottom of the table.

Just one point from six games leaves Wolves propping up the other 19 teams, below newly-promoted Southampton on goal difference.
Wolves’ struggles have been compounded by the fact they missed out on a centre-back in the summer and have now lost Yerson Mosquera to a serious knee injury.
But O’Neil – sure that Wolves will turn it around – is eager to forget the excuses and improve.
“Of course the transfer window doesn’t always look exactly how I wanted it to, but that’s life,” O’Neil said. “I’ve had enough relegation battles as a player, been in enough promotion battles and enough situations that are tough, to know that you just need to dig in and do better.
“If you start to ask why or look for reasons and excuses, you end up wasting time.
“My focus is always on what I can do better to help the group.
“Losing games is tough for the group but we need to keep telling the group that if we keep performing, stay together, keep working, stay resilient and find an extra 10 per cent in ourselves, that we have enough quality to cause team’s problems and we’ll be just fine.
“We’re all together, ready to fight and will do anything it takes to improve the situation.
“I am 100 per cent confident it will turn, but we have to do better.
“I have to do better, the group has to do better. It’s the Premier League and it can be tough at times, but we have quality. We need to show it for the full duration of a football match.
“It’s early in the season, there’s lots of teams on similar points to us and we have had a tough run of fixtures.”
Meanwhile, O’Neil says Wolves will not be signing a free agent to replace Mosquera.
Premier League rules state club’s can only have a 25-man squad of players, with those under 21-years-old not counting towards the total.
A maximum of 17 non-homegrown players is allowed, which Wolves have filled, and although Wolves have named a 24-man squad, their last spot is only available for a homegrown player.
As a result, Wolves are likely to target a signing in January.
When asked if Wolves will dip into the free agent market, O’Neil said: “Probably not, trying to find an out-of-work homegrown centre-back that’s capable of starting in the Premier League will be tricky, I would think.”
