Former Wolves star Paul Ince sacked as Blackpool boss

Former Wolves star Paul Ince has reportedly been sacked as manager of Blackpool.

The 46-year-old had been in charge at Bloomfield Road for less than a year and his dismissal comes following a terrible run in which the Tangerines lost nine of their last 10 fixtures.

Former Birmingham City midfielder Barry Ferguson is expected to take temporary charge.

Defeat at bottom club Barnsley on Saturday saw Blackpool fall to 14th in the Championship and Ince held talks with chairman Karl Oyston yesterday.

Tensions had also exacerbated by a perceived conflict of interests regarding Ince's son Tom – the club's star player – who is currently in the middle of a transfer tug-of-war and is rumoured to have handed in a transfer request.

Ince Snr is said to have been personally involved in negotiations between his son and French club Monaco with a view to a Bosman transfer this summer.
