Exclusive: Wolves fixture with Chelsea earmarked for Christmas Eve
Wolves' festive fixture at home to Chelsea is being earmarked for Christmas Eve, the Express & Star understands.

Top flight football in England was last played on December 24 back in 1995, but 28 years later it looks set to return at Molineux.
Following reports in the Telegraph that at least one game could be switched to Christmas Eve this year, the Express & Star understands Wolves' clash with Chelsea is being earmarked for that date, which falls on a Sunday.
If finalised, the governing body is targeting a 1pm kick-off, but it is unclear if this game will be the only one moved, with the current schedule having it at 3pm on December 23.
The match will be moved for TV coverage, but the decision is likely to cause frustration among supporters, particularly Chelsea fans who will have to battle the weather conditions and disrupted travel to make their way north from London.
The final schedule is due to be announced soon and is likely to come under criticism, with many supporters already moving to condemn the plans, with the the Football Supporters' Association calling for it to be scrapped.
Mark Meehan, Chairman of the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust, contacted the Express & Star and said:“No Premier League fixture has been played on Christmas Eve for 28 years and these reports are deeply worrying.
“This decision would be totally unacceptable and a spit in the face of loyal supporters.
“During a time when we ought to be helping supporters travel to away fixtures, it’s is outrageous that another hurdle could be placed in their way.”
If the final decision is made to move Wolves' game to Christmas Eve, it is likely the Boxing Day trip to Brentford would also be moved, which could also impact the December 30 clash with Everton.
In 2017, plans were discussed that could see matches played on Christmas Day, but they were shelved after concerns were raised regarding travel.
The last top flight match to be played on Christmas Eve in 1995 saw Leeds beat Manchester United 3-1.
The last time Wolves played on Christmas Eve was a 5-3 win over Derby at Molinex in the old Division Two, back in 1966.
