Dave Edwards: Manner of performances shows Wolves moving in right direction under Rob Edwards

Wolves were well worth their point at Brentford, if not all three, and are definitely moving in the right direction.

There is no doubt about that. It's nine points out of the last six games, that's top six form currently.

Some key players are really coming to the fore now. In particular players brought in during January, like Adam Armstrong and Angel Gomes. They are really starting to make a big difference and long may that continue.

They get a bit of a break now where everyone can get rejuvenated and get themselves ready for what's going to be a tough end to the season, but one which could be very productive for Wolves in their quest.

That is not necessarily to stay in the Premier League, which is near impossible, but to finish with some real momentum going into next season.

It was a hard-earned point in west London at a difficult place for Wolves to go. It was a game of two halves and the goal back just before half-time was key.

At 2-2 late on there was that late scare, but that was off the back of a free-kick given against Angel Gomes, which never was.

It was a good performance. The second half was excellent, and it was important Wolves did that because with such a long break until West Ham, you wouldn't want to be dwelling on 90 minutes of what happened in the first 45.

Rob Edwards wanted a box midfield against Brentford's three, like against Liverpool, but we weren't good enough on the turnovers with the ball.

Before Wolves could even start to get the wing-backs high up we would lose the ball and be defending, which would have disappointed Rob.

Being 2-0 down, it could have easily gone three or four, but we hung on in there. Then we got that magical moment just for a half-time, which really changed everything.

The Brentford players were laughing when missing chances at 2-0. But their half-time team talk was very different at 2-1 after excellent work from Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and a fabulous first touch and finish from Armstrong.

Rob didn't rest on his laurels and bringing on Angel Gomes helped the big second-half improvement. His football brain is as good as anyone's and he helped Wolves keep it.

The manager has a good knack of the changes at the right time and Tolu Arokodare gets his equaliser with a smart finish.

If he works on heading the ball down it could have helped Wolves take all three points!
