Dave Edwards column: Big decisions for Wolves owners after Burnley finale

They were ugly scenes at full-time on Sunday as Wolves fans tried to make their voices heard.

It reminded me a bit of another Burnley home game, where we were relegated from the Championship in 2013 back in much darker days than we're in now. There were some terrible scenes that day.

Being on the other side of the fence now as a fan I can understand why the fans want to show their feelings, because it's the only place they can really do so.

Fans can post online, they can write emails, do whatever to try to get to the club, but it feels like the only way to voice your concern is at Molineux on a matchday.

It was directed at the ownership, Vitor Pereira and that's why it got like it did, because the fans want to be heard a little bit more.

Wolves actually did OK in the game  - but you can't be losing your home games against promoted sides and that is two now. That is why the position looks doomed at the moment.

They got sucker-punched early on with two well-taken Burnley goals, especially the first which was a terrific finish. Wolves were on the ropes and the second goal did not help.

Then tactics go out the window and it becomes a bit do-or-die with the emotion inside the stadium. Players want to show they care, to show a reaction

Wolves' second goal was well-worked and I think we saw some spirit and fight. I really thought Wolves would just go on and win the game. I've seen Burnley a few times and they do not look to attack much at all.

Wolves were miles the better team in the second half but the big problem remains in attack. They are really missing some ingenuity. Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri, players who make something happen.

For all the possession and territory they did not open Burnley up nearly enough. The guile or lack of clinical edge to finish is not there.

Look at the goals and chances created. The first is a centre-back Santi Bueno winning a penalty, the second is Munetsi's header set up by a defender Krejci off a set-piece. Obviously the big chance in the dying moments was Santi Bueno in the box.

It shouldn't be your centre-backs at the heart of all your attacking chances. That will worry fans and the head coach.

We're a quarter of the way through the season and the table doesn't lie.

Two points out of nine games having lost to all three promoted sides - it's hard to see where the wins are coming from.

Something needs to turn, to change, we need a moment, whether it's getting a big result or otherwise.

There is a lot of pressure on the manager. I was so, so impressed with Vitor Pereira last season. I thought he absolutely turned the football club around, brought the connection back, and had a real style of play.

He hasn't been able to build on it. I do feel it's been difficult for him with the players he's lost, the players that have been brought in. While you're in the ruthless nature of the Premier League, that's really difficult.

I think his reaction at the end of the game showed how much he cares and wants it to work, he speaks very passionately about Wolves.

He will feel there has been positives in the last few weeks, but when they don't turn into points, that makes it difficult.

It's a big decision for the owners to make - is it Vitor Pereira, or is there someone better out there at the moment?

The head coach could easily win games and turn this around, but it is interesting to see what the ownership think of the situation. Are they doubling down on backing Pereira and to support him again in January?

Or is a change needed? Only those guys can tell anyone what's going to happen - it's a guessing game for me, like every fan!
